Stanford, CA | July - August 2019
Final Presentation for THERAPP

I am the 2nd person from left, presenting during [0:40 - 0:55], [3:38 - 5:14].

I attended CNI-X at the Stanford Medicine of Stanford University, where I:

  • Learned the breadth of clinical research conducted in the Stanford Psychiatry and Behavioral Science department through interactive seminars

  • Led a team of four to design an AI based-on integrated customized diagnostic and treatment platform - THERAPP for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • ABSTRACT OF PROJECT

THERAPP starts with collecting historical diagnostic and treatment data including clinical, laboratory, imagine biomarker and EEG from PTSD patients, then feeding the data into a machine learning platform. The best fitting multivariate regression diagnostic and treatment models using the deep neural network or the convolutional neural network are developed. The diagnostic model will predict whether or not a patient suffers from PTSD, indicating the subtype and severity, and propose a customized treatment plan. The treatment results are sent back to the system in order to tune the therapies in real-time, and further refine the model to help future patients. In addition, the most advanced research results of Repeated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (RTMS) is adopted in the system, which allows the treatment of mental illnesses at their root cause. THERAPP has the feature of automating and optimizing more effectively than any traditional therapies. We presented this design at the final capstone session.
